Awareness & Hazardous Shipment Vigilance
Posted by Darin DeVries on
Attention Purchasing and Procurement Team,
This is an important reminder to stay alert and aware of all incoming shipments, especially anything involving unusual quantities or potentially hazardous products. Your role is a critical part of keeping our workplace, our community, and our supply chain safe.
If something seems off, STOP immediately and verify it before moving forward. Trust your instincts—if a shipment doesn’t look right, it probably isn’t.
Please be especially alert for large quantities of any chemical or regulated material, including:
· Case‑level or pallet‑level quantities
· 55‑gallon drums
· 250‑gallon totes
· Bulk shipments of cleaning solvents, fertilizers, powders, industrial cleaners, or any other hazardous substances
If you notice anything suspicious—unexpected quantities, unusual suppliers, incorrect labeling, or anything that does not match our normal purchasing activity, report it right away through the proper internal channels and notify the appropriate authorities when required.
Unmonitored or misdirected hazardous shipments can create serious risks, and individuals involved in the chain of custody may be held responsible if dangerous materials reach the wrong hands.
Know exactly what you ship. Your awareness protects the company, the community, and you.
If you see something, say something.
