626610 Nordyne Manual Reset Limit Switch L250F

Product Overview

626610 is the genuine Nordyne manual reset high‐limit safety switch, model L250F. It protects gas furnaces by interrupting power to the burner or blower if internal temperatures exceed safe levels. Manual reset requires a deliberate press of the reset button once the unit cools, ensuring that an overheat condition is investigated and cleared before restarting.

Fits Nordyne and Nordyne-Miller gas furnace models employing an L250F manual-reset limit switch, including but not limited to:

  • Single-stage and two-stage units in the L1BA, L1MN, L1PE, L1PB series

  • Private-label and OEM models built on the same control platform

Always verify the furnace’s data-plate limit switch designation before ordering.

Technician Notes

  1. De-energize the furnace at the service disconnect and shut off the gas supply.

  2. Remove access panels to expose the limit switch on the heat exchanger or plenum.

  3. Identify the existing switch’s bracket orientation and wiring. Photograph or label connections for accurate reassembly.

  4. Unplug both quick-connect terminals and depress the switch’s mounting tabs to release it from the bracket.

  5. Inspect the mounting hole or flange for damage; clean the surface of any debris or rust.

  6. Snap the new 626610 switch into the bracket, ensuring a snug, vibration-free fit.

  7. Reattach the two quick-connect leads, confirming full engagement on each terminal.

  8. Restore power and gas, then initiate a heat call. If the switch immediately trips, investigate airflow restrictions, blocked vents, or a failing inducer motor before attempting another reset.

  9. To reset after a genuine overheat event, press the manual reset button firmly until it latches, then observe normal burner operation.
