Technician Notes

Cut power to the furnace and shut off the gas supply before servicing.
Remove the furnace access panel to locate the existing secondary high-limit or manual reset switch.
Document or photograph the wiring and mounting bracket orientation.
Unscrew the two mounting screws, then detach the bulb from its clip and disconnect the quick-connect terminals.
Align the new 626449R switch in the bracket, secure with screws, and clip the sensing bulb into its holder.
Reconnect spade terminals according to your photos or furnace wiring diagram.
Restore power and initiate a heat call. Confirm the furnace cycles off when the heat exchanger reaches around 250 °F.
If available, use a surface sensor or infrared thermometer to verify accurate trip and reset temperatures.
