Compatibility

This valve assembly directly replaces OEM valves on Nordyne, Miller-Nordyne, Coleman-Evcon, Ducane, and select private-label furnaces originally equipped with ½″ 24 VAC gas valves. Typical series and models include:

  • Nordyne G3, G4, G5, G6 and L1RA furnaces

  • Miller-Nordyne Classic® and Platinum™ series

  • Coleman-Evcon II and Performance™ series

  • Ducane state-of-the-art gas furnace lines

Always confirm compatibility by matching the furnace model number and consulting the unit’s data plate.

Technician Notes

  • De-energize all line-voltage and 24 VAC control power and shut off the gas supply before servicing.

  • Tag or photograph existing gas valve connections and manifold tubing to ensure accurate reassembly.

  • Mount the replacement valve on the manifold flange; torque mounting screws per OEM specs.

  • Verify 24 VAC at the valve coil terminals (R to C) before installation.

  • For LP service, remove the natural gas spring and install the factory LP spring and orifice furnished in the kit.

  • Adjust manifold pressure with a manometer: 3.5″ WC for natural gas, 10″ WC for propane.

  • Perform a leak test on all tubing joints and manifold connections at 10″ WC air pressure.

  • Energize the system and initiate a heat call; confirm proper valve opening, stable flame, and correct manifold pressure.
