Technician Notes

  1. Turn off power at the main breaker and verify no voltage present.

  2. Remove furnace access panels to expose the existing heating element assembly.

  3. Photograph or label all four wire connections at the element studs for accurate reinstallation.

  4. Disconnect the element leads and remove the mounting screws securing the front plate.

  5. Slide out the old assembly; clean the opening of any debris or corrosion.

  6. Position the new 902821 assembly, align screw holes, and secure the front plate with original hardware.

  7. Reconnect wire leads to the proper studs and torque the hex nuts per OEM specifications.

  8. Restore power and measure full-load amperage; each element circuit should draw about 41.7 A.

  9. Initiate a heat call and verify outlet air temperature rises appropriately after warm-up.

10 kw heating element. Assembly number 498191. Front plate measures 9.25" x 3.0". 11.25" deep plus rod which can be trimmed to fit. Limit switch 626458R not included.  For a replacement heating coil, order part number 24500750-25.
